The Red army’s triumphs have
also weakened the Bulgarian Gov-
ernment as Marshal Tito has
promised the Macedonians complete
autonomy after the war. The Bul-
garian Cabinet has no longer any
foreign policy. It tried to main-
tain hostility to Jugoslavia by sup-
porting “liberation of Macedonia.”
The most powerful political group
in Bulgaria is now the Workers’
Movement led by Communists. The
Bulgar army, too, has great sym-
pathy with the Soviet Union. How-
ever, the Sofia Cabinet is still Ger-
many’s vassal and will remain so
until the Germans are driven out
or it is overthrown.
