MACEDONIA.

BULGARIAN INTENTIONS PACIFIC.
PROMINENT MACEDONIANS ARRESTED.
London, February 16.
Latest advices with reference to the situation in Macedonia state that M. Michailovski, President of the Macedonian Committee, and M. Zoutcheff, another prominent member of the committee, have been arrested and interned in eastern towns. M. Sarafoff, a member of the committee, who in 1901 was acquitted on a charge of having murdered M. Fitofski and Professor Michaeleana, was also to have been arrested, but he contrived to elude his pursuers. At a meeting held, at Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, at which 10,000 persons were pre- sent, a resolution, was carried condemning the action of the Government in dissolving the Macedonian Committee in that city and arresting the officers and members. The meeting demanded that the committees should be re-established and that only individual offenders should be brought to trial.
Reuter’s Agency states, that the Powers have intimated that the intentions of Bulgaria are pacific, and that the Porte is now reassured.
