In 1993, the Air Force General Erdoğan Öznal, who was the head of the Institute for Historical and Strategic Research of the Turkish Army at that moment, issued a book in Ankara named “Macedonia is not Greece”. In this book, the author represents part of the Ottoman archives about the borders of Macedonia within the Ottoman Empire, spreadsheets on the number of inhabitants, the territory, as well as the population census from 1904 about the different nations who live in Macedonia and the number of inhabitants from each nation separately.
