Macedonia is one of the European provinces of the Turkish
Empire. It is bounded on the south by Epirus, Thessaly and the
Mediterranean; to the east by Thrace and the Mediterranean; to
the north, by Mount Haemus, Bulgaria and Serbia; to the west,
by Albania.
