ПОРАЗИ НА МАКЕДОНЦИТЕ
Султанот придвижил огромна војска од 80 000 луѓе за загушување на востанието во битолскиот вилает. Така големата броева надмоќност и надмоќната опрема под команда на Назир Паша на крај почнале да носат успеси кај Смилево, Клисура и Невеска. Во Смилево и Невеска биле ангажирани по пет баталјони и по една артилерска батерија, во Клисура шест баталјони. Продолжило уништувањето на селата на систематски начин, очигледно со цел за намалување на револуционерите со предизвикување на глад.

r LONDON, Sept. 4.—The Sofia corre-
-fepondent of The Times says that though
80,000 troops have heen employed in sup-
pressing the revolt in ʌfonastir Valiyyet
. ɪɪo real progress was made till the last
few days, when the successes at Smilevo,
, KI is sura, and Neveska enabled Nazir
Pasha to send reassuring dispatches to
Constantinople.
-The great numerical superiority of the
Turks and their superior equipment are
at last beginning to tell. The Turks em-
ployed at Neveska five battalions and a
battery of artillery, at Klissura six bat-
talions, and at Smilevo five, battalions
and a battery of artillery’.
The destruction of villages proceeds
systematically, apparently with the ob-
ject of reducing the revolutionaries by
means of famine.
