Новинарската вест известува за разгорување на востанието (Илинденско н.з.) на многу места. Известува за борби на петнаесет места во Македонија. Турците изгубиле 300 луѓе при дејствата во Одринско, додека востаниците изгубиле четиринаесетмина. Биле користени бомби во Сребрење (Sreborene) кое било уништено. Таму се воделе тешки борби со големи загуби за Турците. Жените зеле активно учество со организирање на групи за помош на востаниците. Во Курбани (Kurbani) биле убени или ранети шеснаесет жени кои храбро се бранеле. Општата слика во Македонија била дека нема напредок и со нестрпливост се очекувал развојот на настаните во следните денови. Бунтот во Едрење (Adrianople) растел, постоеле немири по текот на брегот како и на бугарската граница. Состојбата кај Дупница (Dubnitza) на границата била крајно критична. Востаниците убиле неколку турски војници според Дневник (Dnevnik – бугарски весник н.з.). Се споменува делувањето на Борис Сарафов кај с. Песодер (Pesoder). Заробил грчки свештеник кој го осудувал востанието. Иако бил гонет од Турците успешно им избегал. Руските бродови кои пловеле покрај Одринскиот брег известувале дека сите села покрај брегот веќе три дена гореле. При блиско пловење до брегот биле поздравувани од востаниците. Постоеле непотврдени но постојани кружења на гласини дека кај Битола (Monastir) се случуваат вознемирувачки колежи.

Massacre Reported.
SOFIA, Aug. 22.—Fighting Is reported at
fifteen places In the Vallyyet of Adrianople,
during which the insurgents are said to
have lost fourteen and the Turks 300.
Heavy fighting is reported at Sreborene,
where the troops destroyed the village, and
where the Turks are said to have lost heav-
ily from the explosion of dynamite bombs.
From elsewhere throughout the disturbed
area come continual reports of skirmishes
and heavier fighting resulting in the de-
– struct! on of several villages. At Kurban!
it is stated that the Turks killed or wound-
ed sixteen women, who had valiantly de-
fended themselves. One Turkish soldier
was killed by a woman.
The women are organizing bands to help
the insurgents.
The general outlook in Macedonia shows
no sign of Improvement and the develop-
ments in the next few days are awaited
here with the greatest anxiety. The out-
break at Adrianople is growing, and dis-
; turbances are also prevalent along the
coast and in the vicinity of the Bulgarian
. frontier.
A dispatch from ŋubnitza asserts that the
situation on the frontier Is extremely crit-
ical, the insurgents having killed several
Turkish soldiers at Dnevnik. The dispatch
: also stated that a division of the Rou-
manian army with a brigade rf cavalry
from Bucharest has been ordered to march
toward the Bulgarian frontier ostensibly
for manoeuvres.
Boris Sarafoff is reported to have ap-
peared at the village of Pesoder and to have
seized a Greek priest who had denounced
the revolutionists. Sarafoff took the priest
to Buch, and was pursued by Turkish
troops, who bombarded that village. Sar-
. afoff and his companions escaped.
Officers of a Russian warship, who called
at Burgas, in Bulgaria, north of Iniada, for
provisions, have reported that all the vil-
lages along the coast of Adrianople, from
the Bulgarian frontier to Iniada, have been
burning for the last three days. Iniada is
deserted.
A Russian warship which passed Kurl
Burun, a short distance north of Iniada,
was saluted by the insurgents.
A strong force of Turkish troops has been
dispatched from Adrianople to the coast
districts.
Unconfirmed but persistent rumors are
circulating of alarming massacres at Mon-
astir.
